Introducing RomaRo Ray SX-R Wedge, All of Romaro's technology has been incorporated into this model. A model that allows many golfers to automatically apply spin.
Since the square-groove regulation, various innovations have been made to improve the spin performance of wedge faces. Currently, grooves that are just below the rule limit and advanced milling to fill in the spaces between the grooves are the mainstream, but the effectiveness of these methods is now approaching the upper limit. At Romaro, we have pursued the possibility of improving spin performance using methods other than grooving. The answer was to soften the material. This is the "hyper-heating process after molding. After the head is molded, it is heated to such a high temperature that it melts, and the hardness of the face surface is drastically reduced. By softening the original hardness of the material, a softer feel than ever before is achieved. The softer feel of the ball on the face dramatically improves ball retention and spin. Needless to say, the tenacious, sticky feel and sound of the ball, as well as the spin performance, directional stability, maneuverability, and forgiveness, all contribute greatly to the evolution of performance required of wedges.
The unprecedented feel of the ball's bite - Strong frictional force for a higher spin than ever before - Evolutionary milling face with a soft head
In addition to precision machining of the entire face surface for flatness accuracy and rule-limit scorelines (grooves), laser milling of the micro-grooves carved between grooves is performed from three directions. By adding them in the direction where the face is opened and used diagonally, the frictional force with the ball is increased and the amount of spin is increased. This produces stable high spin not only for short approaches but also in wet conditions and variations in hitting points.
Wide Valley Sole with High Bounce
Diffusion resistance with a good sliding release without sticking. High directional stability for added confidence when aiming.
The newly designed "wide valley sole" is thicker on the back side of the hitting area, giving the entire sole more volume, and rounded off with a gentle curve. The two-tiered design with an indentation in the sole, low in the front, and high in the back, provides good forgiveness in a variety of situations. The ball is easy to pick up even if it is duffed, and the model is rich in directional stability that allows the player to push the ball while keeping it on the face. The synergistic effect of the "inverted taper blade" with a thicker top blade resists variations in the upper and lower hitting points of the head, and the smooth head behavior ensures stable high spin.
New technology "Hyper Heat Manufacturing Method"
It is also soft and spins well in any situation. Spin is firmly applied in any situation.
The material is S20C soft iron, the softest of all soft irons. Romaro's proprietary "hyper-heating process (hyper-heating process after molding)," which heats the head to a high enough temperature to melt it after molding, produces a softer feel on the face than ever before. The extremely soft feel of the ball on the face improves the ball retention and spinnability and contributes to the controllability of the ball by applying consistent spin even from tight lies.
