Yururi introduces the new PDG Raw Blade irons. This is an improved model of the original Raw Flat Back produced in 2010. The original Flat Backs were a great success and continue to still be a popular choice for many enthusiasts across the globe.
PDG stands for Pocket Dance Grinding. The "pocket" is the curved area on the iron where the neck and the head meet. It is the hardest part to grind, due to the curve and small surface area. Yururi has set out to create the most aesthetically pleasing "player's iron" in their line up by focusing on the flow of the neck area to the head All of the PDG iron heads are ground by a single craftsman in Himeji, Japan.
Just like the original Flat Back, Feel, Playability and Control are the main focus of the new PDG irons. It has been made with the input of many professional and highly skilled amateurs. The PDG irons have a slightly more rounded toe line than its predecessor. The back muscle of the club has been changed slightly to accommodate the new performance goals. The new PDG irons been made to perform closer to the "traditional blade" irons. The lofts were weakened compared to the Flat Backs and the center of gravity has been moved slightly higher. This is was created due to the numerous input by professionals and amateurs to have an iron set that placed an emphasis on feel, playability and control, rather than distance, which most irons are leaning towards today.
The PDG heads are all USGA conforming grooves.
